　　定語從句例句（一）：

　　關系代詞

　　在定語從句中，能作關系代詞的有whowhom、which、that。

　　(1)whothat指人

　　例：He is the man whothat lives next door.他是住在隔壁的那個人。

　　注意：關系代詞在從句中作賓語時，whichthat堅持不變，who變?yōu)閣hom。

　　例：We wondered whom the book was about. 我們想明白這本書是關于誰的。

　　(2)whichthat指物

　　例：The book whichthat you borrowed me yesterday is interesting. 你昨日借給我的書很有意思。

　　定語從句例句（二）：

　　關系副詞

　　在定語從句中，能作關系副詞的有why（表原因）、where（表地點）、when（表時光）。

　　例：This is the reason why I was late this morning. 這就是我今日早上遲到的原因。

　　This is the town where he was born.這是他出生的小鎮(zhèn)。

　　Tom got married in 2000 when he was 24 years old. 2000年湯姆結婚了，當時他24歲。

　　注意：千萬不要看見前面是原因、地點、時光就用why、where、when這些關系副詞，關鍵要看它們在從句中起名詞還是副詞的作用。

　　請看下頭的例題：

　　This is the reason ______ I was late this morning.

　　This is the reason ______ I told you.

　　第一句中，the reason用來修飾遲到這個動詞，表示早上遲到的原因（I was late because…），所以它起到副詞的作用，要用why。

　　而第二句中，the reason 是told的賓語（I told you the reason），起名詞的作用，所以要用whichthat。

　　定語從句例句（三）：

　　限制性定語從句和非限制性定語從句

　　1、結構上的區(qū)別

　　限制性定語從句不用逗號與主句隔開

　　例：I have a sister who is a doctor.（限制性定語從句）我有一個當醫(yī)生的姐姐。

　　非限制性定語從句需使用逗號和主句隔開。

　　例：I have a sister， who is a doctor.（非限制性定語從句）我有一個姐姐，她是當醫(yī)生的。

　　2、意義及功能上的區(qū)別

　　限制性定語從句修飾和限制先行詞，明確先行詞資料，是先行詞不可缺少的定語。如果刪去，會影響主句意義的完整。

　　例：I have an elder brother who is a teacher.（限制性定語從句）我有一個當教師的哥哥。

　　（但我可能還有做其他工作的哥哥。刪去該從句后，句子的整體含義發(fā)生了變化：I have an elder brother. 這句話的就意味著我僅有一個哥哥了。）

　　非限制性定語從句是對先行詞的附加補充說明。如果刪去，不會影響主句意義的完整。

　　例：I have an elder brother， who is a teacher.（非限制性定語從句）我有一個哥哥，他是當教師的。

　　（刪去該從句后不影響句子的整體含義：I have an elder brother.）

　　從以上兩句句子中也能夠看出限制性定語從句和非限制性定語從句的譯法也有所不一樣。

　　一般限制性定語從句會翻譯成先行詞的定語“…的”，而非限制性定語從句通常翻譯成主句的并列句。

　　3、先行詞的資料區(qū)別

　　大多數(shù)限制性和非限制性定語從句的先行詞往往為某一個詞或短語，而特殊情景下非限制性定語從句的先行詞也可為整個主句或是主句中的某些資料，此時非限制性定語從句常由which 引導。

　　例：A four-year-old boy can speak two foreign languages， which surprises all the people present.（非限制性定語從句）

　　一個四歲男孩會講兩門外語，這令所有在場的人感到十分驚訝。（令人驚訝的是“一個四歲男孩會講兩門外語”這件事，先行詞為整個主句，所以應由which 引導非限制性定語從句。）

　　4、關系詞使用上的區(qū)別

　　4.1 在限制性定語從句中，當關系詞做賓語時能夠省略。但在非限制性定語從句中，關系詞是不可省略的。

　　例：Is this the magazine (that) she wants?（限制性定語從句）這是她想要的雜志嗎？

　　例：The man returned home with the magazine， which he had bought in a bookstore.（非限制性定語從句）男人帶著雜志回家了，這雜志是他在書店買的。

　　4.2 非限制性定語從句中不能使用關系代詞that或why

　　例：Tennis， which is the best summer game， can be played by two or four players.（非限制性定語從句）網(wǎng)球是最好的夏日運動，能夠有兩個或四個人一齊玩。

　　這句話不能夠寫成：Tennis， that is the best summer game， can be played by two or four players. 在語法上是錯誤的。

　　4.3 在限制性定語從句中有時可用who代替whom，可是在非限制性定語從句中不能夠用who代替whom

　　例：He is the only doctor whowhom I can turn to for help.（限制性定語從句）他是我唯一能求助的醫(yī)生了。（關系詞作賓語時可用who代替whom）

　　例：He is a warm-hearted doctor， to whom I can turn for help.（非限制性定語從句）他是個好心的醫(yī)生，我能夠向他求助。

　　5、在非限制性定語從句中，“介詞+關系代詞”結構前能夠使用all、both、most、some等詞，與of whichwhom搭配。

　　例：Her daughters， both of whom studied abroad， wrote to her once every two weeks.（她的兩個女兒在國外讀書，她們每兩周給她寫封信。）

　　6、as引導非限制性定語從句

　　as作關系代詞引出非限制性定語從句時，代替整個主句，對其進行說明，有“正如……，就像……”之意。

　　通常用于as we all know、as is said above、as is often the case等句式中。

　　as在非限制性定語從句中作主語、表語或賓語，引出的從句位置比較靈活，可位于句首或句末，也可置于主句中間。通常均由逗號將其與主句隔開。

　　例：As was often the case， he forgot to bring the book. （他忘了帶書，這很尋常。）=He forgot to bring the book， as was often the case.

　　定語從句例句（四）：

　　as與which引導的定語從句

　　兩者均可引導非限制性定語從句，有時能夠互換，但下列情景多用as。

　　1. 關系代詞引導的定語從句居句首時。 As we all know， the earth is round.

　　2. 當與such或the same連用時，一般用as。 Such books as you tell me are interesting. I have the same plan as you.

　　3. 當從句和主句語義一致時，用as，反之則用which。 She has married again， as was expected. She has married again， which was unexpected.

　　4. as在從句中作主語時，后面常接行為動詞的被動語態(tài)，如be known，be said，be reported等，如從句中行為動詞是主動語態(tài)，一般要用which作主語。

　　She has been late again， as was expected.

　　Tom has made great progress， which made us happy.
